Abstract
Kata Cockatiel berasal dari bahasa Belanda, yaitu Kakatielje yang berarti kakaktua mini. Cockatiel merupakan salah satu burung paruh bengkok yang populer sebagai burung hias. Adanya jambul di kepala memang lebih mencirikan kelompok kakaktua. Penciptaan karya ini hanya menggunakan satu jenis warna yaitu Pied. Hal ini karena warna Pied merupakan varian warna bercak abu-abu kehitaman dan kuning pada bulu cockatiel. Bentuk burung Pied Cockatiel inilah yang diwujudkan dalam karya seni sangkar burung. Metode penciptaan ini melalui beberapa tahapan. Pertama, tahap eksplorasi yaitu tahap pencarian ide, selanjutnya tahap perancangan yang merupakan tahap pembuatan sketsa dan desain karya yang akan dibuat. Tahap terakhir dilanjutkan dengan perwujudan karya. Pada karya ini, teknik yang digunakan yaitu teknik ukir dan kontruksi. Penempatan karya sangkar ini ada yang digantung, ada yang diposisikan pada dinding, dan ada yang berfungsi sebagai hiasan yang memiliki dudukan. Karya yang diciptakan telah dipamerankan dalam bentuk suasana alam. Posisi burung pied cockatiel, dijadikan sangkar itu sendiri, yaitu pada bagian badan. Bentuk sangkar yang diposisikan di bagian badan, mengikuti bentuk oval dari badan burung tersebut. sangkar dibuat oval mengikuti bentuk kepala pied cockatiel. Kata kunci: Pied Cockatiel, Sangkar Burung. The word Cockatiel came from the Dutch language, that is Kakatielje with meaning the mini cockatoo. Cockatiel is a kind of popular partial birds crooked as an ornamental bird. The presence of high hair above the head adds the characteristic of the parrot. Creation of this work just used a type of colour it is Pied. This is because Pied colour is a variant spotting grey until black and yellow on cockatiel leathers. This form of the Cockatiel bird is realized in the artwork of bird cage. This method of creation through several stages. First, exploration stage it is a stage looking for idea, and than the stage of design, it is a stage making a sketch and design of works that should make. The last stage continue with the embodiment of the work. In this creation, the technique used is carving and construction. A location of this cage works is hanging, some on the wall, and some have function be ornamential with a stand. Created works will be exhibited in an nature atmosphere of style. The pied cockatiel bird will be the cage, that is on part of body. form of cage that in body part, follow the form oval by the bird body piece.
